Mud drilling agitators
Advantages of using PILVAD side entry agitators on drilling-mud vessels
For the PSV´s carrying drilling mud to the oil platforms it is important to keep the mud homogeneous, otherwise there will be severe sedimentation. The drilling mud is expensive itself and a delay in time, waiting for the drilling mud to be mixed is even more expensive.
Hassle free operation and ease of maintenance of the agitator is an important factor in the operators ability to supply the platforms without costly delays.
The agitators installed on the vessels for mixing drilling mud is therefore important and plays a part in securing high value in the supply chain.

PILVAD side entry agitators
Top entry agitators are the largest, and probably the most expensive solution. Side entry agitators are smaller agitators, mostly due to the shorter agitator shaft. They are mounted on the side of the tank and are always in contact with the drilling mud

Submerged agitators
Submerged agitators are smaller than the side entry agitators, with shorter shafts and off course must be completely “sealed off” towards the drilling mud. They should be fixed to the wall of the inside of the tank, to provide good performance.
